Stories of Hope

  Thanksgiving for Prayer

I belong to a prayer group that was formed to pray daily for peace and for each other’s intentions. It consists of friends and family members and grows by one person inviting another to join. We keep in touch with each other’s prayer intentions, whether petition or thanksgiving, through an email update that is sent each Friday. I received the following from one of our members, today:

"I just wanted to let you know that within a week of putting my mother-in-law on the prayer intentions list, she began to get her strength back. She has finally returned to work for the first time in 2 months and is doing well! Thank you to everyone for their prayers!”

  Healer of Hearts

Leo's wife wrote:

Dear Father Dennis,
Thank you for the prayers.  Leo had angioplasty two weeks ago.  The doctor was sure he would need to have open heart surgery.  The day of the tests we were delayed two hours due to the doctor's emergency call.  We spent the two hours praying and reading our Bible.  After the tests the doctor stated he was totally confounded at the need only for opening the artery.  He stated he had never been wrong before considering all the tests and symptoms had shown.  We knew God had answered our prayers.
In four days Leo walked out of the hospital.  His cancer is being treated and kept in check for now.  We were able to receive communion in the hospital and were visited by two priests, so we felt very blessed.

Our special love and prayers,

Jo (Leo's wife)

Judy's Miracle

Dear Father Dennis,
Although we have never met, I feel I know you very well.  Last year a friend came to see you at Sanctuary of Hope to tell you about my life-threatening operation and to send me a spiritual gift of prayer.  Her prayers and yours, and my belief, all played their part in my miracle recovery.  In fact, November 13, 2002 is exactly 12 months since my operation.  Thank you for your love, masses, prayers, and care for me.

Fate brought my friend into my life, but I feel she is surely sister in my heart.  I am hoping to come to Kansas City next year and to meet you and thank you for everything in person.

Until then, my love, prayers and peace to you!

Judy

Judy's friend also sent a note:

Dear Father Dennis,
My friend's operation was a complete success.  She has NO paralysis!
