St. Raphael Archangel Raphael, whose name means "divine healer" or "God heals", is the chief of the guardian angels and one of seven Archangels who stand before the throne of the Lord. In the book of Enoch, Raphael is said to have "healed" the earth when it was defiled by the sins of the fallen angels. Thus, he is thought to be charged with the mission of healing the earth. He is the patron of travelers, of those in the healing professions, and of happy meetings.
