|
Sanctuary of Hope Prayer Center
September 10, 2002
The job description of a Live-in at Sanctuary of Hope Prayer Center in Kansas City, Kansas is to pray for the mission of
Sanctuary of Hope, the Live-ins, staff, workers, Associate Members, prayer warriors, guests, prayer requests and all who come and go from this institution.
It is the duty of the Live-ins, who are called the Brothers and Sisters of Peace, to administrate and manage the entire operation of
Sanctuary of Hope, along with the Spiritual Director and the Board of Trustees as a 501 © 3 organization in the State of Kansas.
The Live-ins work closely with the Associate Members of Sanctuary of Hope, who are called the Brothers and Sisters of Hope. Together they do the mission of
Sanctuary of Hope. The Associates are assigned special duties, like retreat attendants, by the Live-ins in order to provide for the needs of our guests.
Live-ins welcome guests, answer phones, draw up work schedules, direct housekeeping duties, and offer guidance for the maintenance of the grounds, screen guests and minister to them.
Live-ins keep a list of referrals for anyone who may need it and for guests to use in taking the next step of their growth after making a retreat at
Sanctuary of Hope.
Live-ins are asked to pray twice a day as a community and to take a day off once a week. Live-ins are required to have a spiritual director, outside the house. Mondays are a special community day and the retreat center is closed to the public on Mondays.
Live-ins share the evening meal with each other and try to join up for breakfast and lunch when schedules permit.
Live-ins are not salaried as such, unless they have a specific job in the house that is salaried. Live-ins must have their own insurance as well.
Live-ins do fill out a complete application and will be asked to have some psychological testing, along with a physical.
Peace,
Fr. Dennis Wait, Spiritual Director
